Welcome!

The Park People's mission is to work with communities to plant trees and improve parks for a healthy, resilient future.

We improve parks by raising funds for park projects, like the reconstruction of the Cranmer Park Sundial & Plaza, and we support the urban forest through our programs: Denver Digs Trees, Mile High Tree Champions, TreeForceCommunity Forester, and the Park Legacy program.

New Site Inspector Training

Help increase tree canopy in Denver!

The Denver Digs Trees program offers free & low-cost trees to Denver residents.  Volunteer Site Inspectors visit properties around the city to measure and mark proper planting locations for the new street trees.  This a fun and extremely important part of the program.  Site Inspectors fill a crucial role in helping to maximize the health and survival of the trees as they grow for years to come.  The schedule is flexible and you can do as many or as few inspections as you choose.

Training is required and will be provided on Saturday, February 2nd, from 9am-1pm at Barnum Recreation Center.

Join us to learn about the Denver Digs Trees process and how to inspect properties for proper street tree planting locations. There will be classroom and field components with plenty of materials and expertise to guide you!  Free hot coffee and a light snack also provided.

Once you complete the training, you are qualified to perform inspections independently. You can pick a neighborhood of your choosing and complete the inspections on your own time. This is a great, flexible opportunity to learn a new skill, communicate with the public, get to know new areas of the city, and have an impact on Denver’s urban forest!

Thanks for your valuable support of the Denver urban forest!
