They talk with residents, business owners, and community groups about the impacts of climate change, and how they can work together to help make their homes and neighborhoods more resilient to extreme heat and water scarcity.

The Purpose

Why Here And Now?

Barnum and Valverde, two low-canopy neighborhoods, are particularly vulnerable to extreme heat and water scarcity impacts.

A Solution

Our Community Climate Ambassadors have surveyed community members regarding resources that would help them conserve water and mitigate heat. Our CCAs use this resident input to plan local, resident-focused community education campaigns, and will soon be working on community tree plantings and home-based water conservation projects, like helping residents install rain barrels or gutter re-directs for irrigation, according to what residents say they need.
