The Park People is home to an exciting initiative that encourages businesses of all sizes to become Mile High Tree Champions. Mile High Tree Champions are companies that invest a small amount of funding and some good old sweat equity to help enhance Denver's urban tree canopy and improve Denver's green infrastructure.
For participating companies, The Park People will plan an action-packed half-day tree planting experience for your business. Crew sizes can range from 15-50 volunteers, and the planting event can be scheduled morning or afternoon, Monday-Friday or weekends.
Your Mile High Tree Champions investment not only benefits the city's green efforts, but also is a fun and inspiring experience. Participants in the Mile High Tree Champions Program walk away from the experience knowing they have had a direct impact on their local environment and feeling empowered by a unique day of team building with their coworkers.
Mile High Tree Champions will be featured prominently in outreach and media materials seen by thousands of Denver residents. Champion companies will also be recognized in our newsletter, The Park Bench, which goes to volunteers and donors as well as on our website. Additionally, Mile High Tree Champions can highlight their participation via their own outreach avenues and receive recognition as a company that cares about the environment and the city's urban tree canopy.
Environmental Sustainability - your team will have made a direct contribution to the city's green infrastructure and to the larger global environment.
Team Building - your employees will have participated in a positive event that requires team work.
Community Investment - your company will have a direct investment in the local community.
Turn Key Project - the event will be planned, organized and managed by The Park People.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have postponed all Mile High Tree Champions planting projects scheduled for spring 2020. We are scheduling events for September through October. Those who had registered for a spring event will receive priority fall registration. In working to keep our partners, staff, volunteers, and the broader community safe, we are working to develop safety precautions and practices for working together. We look forward to making an impact together, safely, alongside our wonderful community partners.
