Pocket Forest Tree Planting

Saturday, October 11 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

The Park People is supporting a collaborative effort to plant a pocket forest at Marie L Greenwood Elementary School in Montbello. The Nature Conservancy and the Trust for Public Land are working with the school and other partner organizations to enhance STEM education and nature-based learning.

Our energetic volunteer community has been invited to participate in planting the pocket forest in a special community event, Saturday, October 11. This is an exciting project to plant a multilayered, dense little wood to mimic a forest and its benefits in an urban space, enriching the educational experience and fostering a deeper connection with nature.

Optional Training on planting a pocket forest: Friday, October 10th from 3pm to 4pm. If you’re able to attend the Friday orientation, you can learn about how to plant using the pocket forest method!
