Ryker Washer

Ryker graduated from college in 2023 with a BA in sociology and has a background in waste management and designing & implementing native pollinator gardens. It was a natural transition for them to step into the vast world of trees!

Ryker is a TreeForce graduate who then went on to become the Field Crew Assistant for TreeForce. Ryker enjoyed all aspects of the program, including the opportunities and skills they gained through the in-field training, networking with employers, the education materials, and the career skills development. It is an honor for them to get to continue to be a part of TreeForce in a new capacity!

As the Field Crew Assistant, Ryker supports the Field Crew Supervisors with all things programming, including leading crews and supplementing education in the classroom. Ryker also supports the WorkForce Development Manager with as-needed tasks such as planning alumni events for TF graduates. They also support other programs in the off-season, doing tree stewardship, leading crews for stop sign pruning with Community Foresters, and assisting the in-house arborist by conducting resident consultations and helping facilitate tree care workshops.

Outside of work, Ryker enjoys hanging out with their darling dog and cat and watching their favorite animations. You can find them teaching tree identification to anyone who will listen. They have a soft spot for the London Planetree and the Bigtooth Maple.
