This opportunity is open to Community Foresters.\nWould you like to volunteer with The Park People from the comfort of your home? \nCommunity Foresters are needed to provide support in the spring and fall (the busiest times) to residents by accessing The Park People’s “treecare@theparkpeople.org” email inbox & responding to tree care questions for community members. SUMMARY:Volunteer Opportunity: GPS Coordinate Data Collection -  open to all!
DESCRIPTION:This volunteer opportunity is open to all!\n\nWe are looking for 20-25 volunteers to collect GPS Coordinates for Denver Digs Trees trees planted in the right-of-way. This volunteer opportunity requires a ~1.5 hour training. The data collection portion will take place on your own time. \n\n\nRequired Training: Wednesday\, May 13th\, 5:30-7pm OR Saturday\, May 16th 10-11:30am\n\nboth at The Treehouse (450 Decatur St. Denver\, CO 80204)  \n\n\nThese coordinates allow Denver’s Office of the City Forester keep an accurate inventory of street trees. Volunteers will use Forestry’s online survey on their smartphones with the location turned on to capture location data of trees planted in their neighborhoods and surrounding areas. Volunteers can expect to be assigned anywhere from 10-15 trees\, and location can be captured any time during May and June. \nTree ID skills are helpful\, but not necessary.
