DESCRIPTION:The Park People is supporting a collaborative effort to plant a pocket forest at Marie L Greenwood Elementary School in Montbello. The Nature Conservancy and the Trust for Public Land are working with the school and other partner organizations to enhance STEM education and nature-based learning. \nOur energetic volunteer community has been invited to participate in planting the pocket forest in a special community event\, Saturday\, October 11. This is an exciting project to plant a multilayered\, dense little wood to mimic a forest and its benefits in an urban space\, enriching the educational experience and fostering a deeper connection with nature. \nOptional Training on planting a pocket forest: Friday\, October 10th from 3pm to 4pm. If you’re able to attend the Friday orientation\, you can learn about how to plant using the pocket forest method! \nRSVP TO VOLUNTEER\n
